Cura Terrae is looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join our growing Group Finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised and proactive finance professional to support the day-to-day financial operations of a dynamic and expanding group of environmental businesses. You’ll play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting transactional finance processes, and helping ensure the smooth running of the finance function.

The opportunity
As an Accounts Assistant, you’ll work closely with the Transactions Manager to support a range of bookkeeping, processing, and accounts administration activities across the business. You’ll be responsible for ensuring financial transactions are processed accurately and efficiently, supporting supplier and customer account management, and maintaining strong relationships with colleagues and external suppliers. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organised, and enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
What you’ll be doing:
- Processing purchase invoices and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Managing supplier statement reconciliations and resolving supplier queries in a timely manner.
- Supporting supplier payment runs and ledger reconciliations.
- Processing staff expenses through Continia Expenses.
- Managing and processing company credit cards.
- Supporting month-end processes, including reconciling and closing ledgers.
- Ensuring compliance with purchase order processes across the business.
- Working closely with regional managers, business administrators, and colleagues across departments.
- Raising sales invoices and ensuring customers pay on time through systematic credit control processes.
- Supporting continuous improvement within finance administration processes.
What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience in an accounts administration or finance assistant role.
- Experience using ERP systems, ideally Microsoft Business Central.
- GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths (or equivalent qualifications or experience).
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across different teams and levels of the business.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and good general IT literacy.
- Ability to work independently with a proactive and flexible approach.
- A professional and confidential approach at all times.
