We’re looking for an experienced Senior or Principal Environmental Consultant to join our growing team at Cura Terrae, a purpose-driven organisation dedicated to helping businesses thrive sustainably while protecting the planet. This is a key role within the consultancy team, offering the opportunity to lead environmental projects, build trusted client relationships, and contribute to the growth of our environmental advisory services. You will work across sectors including food & drink, chemicals, waste management, construction, and engineering, supporting organisations to navigate environmental compliance while developing practical sustainability strategies. For more experienced candidates, the Principal level role will include strategic client leadership, mentoring colleagues, and driving business development across the Midlands region. What You’ll Do
- Manage and develop key client accounts, acting as the primary point of contact
- Provide expert advice on environmental legislation, policies, and best practice
- Conduct compliance audits, risk assessments, and prepare permit applications
- Build strong, long‑term relationships to ensure client satisfaction and retention
- Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing and new accounts
- Act as a trusted environmental manager for clients, producing key documentation and procedures
- Lead and deliver environmental projects on time, within budget, and to high standards
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and liaise with clients, regulators, and stakeholders
- Deliver training sessions and workshops on environmental compliance and sustainability
- Lead or support bid preparation, proposals, and pricing strategies
- Monitor account performance, including revenue targets and growth opportunities
What You’ll Bring
- A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Sustainability, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience)
- At least 5 years’ experience in environmental consulting or a related field
- Strong knowledge of UK environmental legislation, sustainability principles, and ISO standards
- Proven experience managing client relationships and delivering high‑quality consultancy projects
- Experience supporting business development activities, including proposals and tender submissions
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., ISEP (formerly IEMA), CIWEM, or equivalent)
