We are seeking an experienced and passionate Deputy Manager (Clinical) to join our client's care home team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified nurse with strong leadership skills to support the Home Manager in delivering outstanding clinical care and ensuring the highest standards of resident wellbeing.

As Deputy Manager (Clinical), you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day management of the home, providing clinical leadership and supporting the delivery of safe, effective, and person-centred care. You will help maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, oversee clinical governance, and ensure residents receive the highest quality of care in a supportive and compassionate environment. In the absence of the Home Manager, you will take responsibility for the operational and clinical management of the service, ensuring the home continues to operate effectively and in line with CQC standards and company policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Home Manager with the overall clinical and operational management of the home.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to nursing and care teams.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care that promotes dignity, independence, and choice.
  • Maintain compliance with CQC regulations, clinical governance frameworks, and company policies.
  • Conduct clinical audits and implement improvements where required.
  • Review, monitor, and update care plans to ensure residents' needs are met effectively.
  • Oversee medication management and ensure safe administration practices.
  • Support pre-admission assessments and ongoing resident evaluations.
  • Complete risk assessments and ensure appropriate care interventions are in place.
  • Monitor clinical documentation and maintain accurate records.
  • Support safeguarding procedures and ensure concerns are escalated appropriately.
  • Build strong relationships with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies.
  • Mentor, supervise, and develop nursing and care staff to promote best practice and continuous improvement.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Current NMC registration (RGN, RMN, or RNLD).
  • Previous experience as a Deputy Home Manager or in a senior clinical leadership role within a care home setting.
  • Strong knowledge of CQC regulations and care home compliance requirements.
  • Excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
  • Experience leading, motivating, and developing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and referral pathways.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A commitment to delivering exceptional standards of resident care.
  • The ability to engage residents and families in care planning and decision-making processes.
