An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Care Home Manager to join a well-established care provider. This role is being advertised on behalf of our client, who is seeking a dedicated and commercially aware leader to oversee the successful operation of their care home.

The Role

As Care Home Manager, you will be responsible for the overall day-to-day management of the home, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care while maintaining compliance and achieving strong operational performance. Operating within a regulated environment, you will be required to have a thorough understanding of CQC standards and all relevant legislation. You will also play a key role in maintaining occupancy levels and achieving financial targets. You will benefit from strong support both internally and externally, including Operations and Central teams, as well as an established in-home team consisting of a Deputy Manager, Administrator, and Hospitality and Housekeeping teams.

Reporting To: Operations Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide effective leadership and direction to the staff team, promoting a culture of kindness, compassion, and empathy
  • Ensure full compliance with all regulatory requirements, including CQC standards
  • Maintain exceptional standards of care and support for residents
  • Manage budgets and ensure financial targets are consistently met
  • Develop and deliver a strategic marketing plan to drive and maintain full occupancy
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with residents, families, and stakeholders
  • Respond promptly and effectively to feedback, concerns, and changing needs

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience managing a nursing or residential care home
  • Strong working knowledge of CQC regulations, with a focus on achieving high ratings
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Commercial awareness with experience in marketing and running a successful care service
  • Passion for delivering high-quality, person-centred care
  • Ability to contribute to the growth and continuous improvement of the service

Qualifications

  • NMC registered nurse (desirable but not essential)
  • Relevant post-registration or management experience within a care setting
