Bradford area in West Yorkshire. Approximately 30 to 40 minutes away from our Esholt wastewater site.
Work Type
Permanent opportunities working rotational 40‑hour patterns on a 4 on 4 off basis (no standby), may include late, early and weekend work patterns.
What We Do
We provide essential water and wastewater services to the Yorkshire region, protecting the environment and planning for the future. Customer Field Services are key to meeting changing customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
Where You Fit In
As a Network Operations Technician you will deliver first‑time fix and same‑day solutions to customers and the environment, maintain the network and prevent sewage escapes. You will work closely with Yorkshire Water teams and contracted partners, use IT systems to capture data, convey evidence and support operational teams.
Responsibilities
- First‑time fix solution for customers and environment.
- Ensure correct site set up and POWRA completion during jobs.
- Safely maintain the sewerage network to prevent sewage escapes.
- Resolve and manage operational issues on the sewer network with partners.
- Use IT systems to collate information and relay feedback.
- Collate evidence capturing and assess photographs, plans and reports.
- Maintain and install Customer Sewer Alarms where required.
- Adhere to Health and Safety working practices and procedures.
- Provide technical support and first‑line response to customer contacts.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Practical mindset, enjoys working outdoors in all weathers.
- Experience in a customer service‑related role with face‑to‑face communication.
- Develop and maintain effective internal and external relationships.
- Question unsafe working practices and report to management.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Find faults and diagnose root cause of issues.
- Rational problem‑solving skills and basic IT skills.
- Work various rotas including out of hours standby rota.
- Pass strict medical criteria for confined spaces.
- Full valid driving licence with no more than 6 points.
