Water Utility Company based in the Yorkshire region of England. Network Operational Specialist in the Customer Field Services department. Location: covering Knostrop and surrounding areas in West Yorkshire. This is a permanent role, 37 hours per week. After training, you will participate in an out of hours standby; flexibility outside core hours is essential.
We offer a competitive salary range from £41,477 to £51,846 depending on experience, plus an annual incentive related bonus (up to £1,000 for the performance year). The package includes an attractive pension scheme (up to 12% company contribution) and a comprehensive benefits offering. Work pattern includes 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays plus an extra wellness day, with additional days in lieu of working bank holidays. Life assurance cover of 4 times pensionable salary. Location notes: This role will cover Knostrop and surrounding areas in West Yorkshire within the Customer Field Services department.

Responsibilities
- Split between field and office-based work in a geographical area to improve customer service and sewer performance and respond to escalated incidents.
- Coach and support field-based operatives to ensure quality investigations are undertaken, evidenced, and documented, promoting a first-time fix solution for customers and the environment.
- Review customer complaints and ensure appropriate actions are taken to resolve issues, aiming to minimise repeats.
- Provide technical support on the safe operation of the Customer Field Services fleet and equipment (jetting, CCTV, Recycler/Vactor operation, sewer network investigations).
- Review RAMS for all works on the gravity sewer network and provide guidance on the gravity sewer network and significant incidents (pollution/flooding).
- Support incident management for field-based teams and assist with the operational delivery of maintenance and response activities.
- Assist with escapes review process for sewer network escapes, internal and external flooding and pollution; provide technical and financial validation for follow-on work with Yorkshire Water and service partners.
- Work with the operations contracts team to drive improvements and efficiencies within Water Utility Services Authority (WWSA) and related activities.
- Manage the CSO asset base ensuring safe and effective operation; coordinate with central control and CSO teams to deliver maintenance plans.
Qualifications and Experience
- Technical understanding of sewer systems and network performance issues, with knowledge of associated assets and basic sewage treatment works.
- Experience with vehicles and equipment used to address sewer network issues; previous operation of high-pressure jetting equipment with relevant accreditation.
- Experience in a customer service-related role with face-to-face customer interaction.
- Ability to work in a busy environment, manage day-to-day workloads, and intervene to mitigate risks.
- Strong Health & Safety background with demonstrated health and safety management processes and systems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team; ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong influencing skills, attention to detail, and experience with evidence capture and feedback.
- Proficiency with IT (Microsoft Office) and company systems such as SAP; training will be provided for company systems.
- Full valid driving licence (no more than 6 points) due to travel to different operational sites across the region.
