Overview
ICA Technician role within the Asset Delivery team at Yorkshire Water. You will be required to work unsupervised in a wide variety of locations and be accountable for the completion of planned and reactive ICA tasks within agreed timescales, quality, and cost parameters. You will maintain, repair, and commission instrumentation, control, automation, and telemetry systems across Yorkshire Water\’s asset base on treatment works, pumping stations, CSOs and reservoirs. In-house training is provided on areas such as PLCs, SCADA, and instruments.
Location: North West, North East, and South of Yorkshire / Hybrid Working. Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Standby expected once progression level is reached; occasional overtime may be available. A regional role with opportunities to work across Yorkshires asset base.

Responsibilities
- Be required to work unsupervised in a wide variety of locations and be accountable for the completion of planned and reactive ICA tasks within agreed timescales
- Build and maintain relationships with operational customers, colleagues, suppliers, and partners
- Always work safely to agreed safe systems of work
- Proactively identify areas for improvement in relation to hazards, providing mitigation and submitting these to the safety database
- Maintain, repair and commission a wide variety of ICA related equipment from PLCs to telemetry systems and instrumentation such as pressure, flow, level, chlorine residual, turbidity and pH
Qualifications
- A recognised electrical craft or technician apprenticeship
- A formal electrical qualification: National Certificate (ONC) or similar
- A practical electrical qualification: City and Guilds, NVQ or similar
- The ability to read and understand technical documents such as loop diagrams and electrical drawings
- The ability to identify and rectify faults on electrical systems
- Safe isolation to the current IET regulations
- IT skills
