We have an exciting opportunity for an ESOS & Flexibility Services Specialist to join the Energy Team within the wider Commercial Services team at Yorkshire Water.

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary: ÂŁ41,133 - ÂŁ49,729 per annum, depending on experience

Location & Working Hours

  • Location: Bradford / Leeds – Hybrid Working (a mix of office, site and home working)
  • Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday‑Friday between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain ESOS compliance for Yorkshire Water including ESOS assessments, required energy audits and evidence packs.
  • Produce action plan and annual progress updates using third‑party support where necessary.
  • Undertake site surveys and develop ESOS standard energy reports for approval by the Yorkshire Water Lead Assessor.
  • Act as interface between the Energy Team and the Energy Optimisation Team that delivers the Energy Efficiency Optimisation programme.
  • Utilise and manipulate data to support business case development and determine performance benefits of deployed energy efficiency works.
  • Identify and deliver flexibility service opportunities in the areas of grid services and capacity management.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Significant experience in the water, wastewater or similar processing industries, or in an industrial consultancy role.
  • Work experience within the energy and utilities industry.
  • Science or engineering degree (preferred) and membership of a relevant institute (IET, EI) (preferred).
  • Experience of energy regulatory processes and working with energy suppliers, meter operators, DNOs.
  • Experience of renewable operations and industry charging mechanisms.
  • Excellent IT skills, proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Desirable experience in control systems such as SCADA and OSI PI.
  • Project management experience and familiarity with project management tools.
  • Strong organisational skills, ability to manage heavy workloads, prioritise business needs, and attention to detail.
  • Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with colleagues, managers and external contractors.
  • Resilience under pressure, self‑reliance and a personal drive for continuous development.

Additional Requirements

  • Must hold a UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
  • Travel to sites across Yorkshire is required.
  • Hybrid setup typical requires 1‑2 days in the office per week, plus site visits; on‑site work is also an option.
