We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager (Business Change) to join the Asset Delivery PMO at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers.
Location: Buttershaw, Bradford, hybrid working – 2 days a week in office. As part of the role, you will be required to travel to different Yorkshire Water locations. Pending office move to Leeds (LS10) from Summer 2026.
Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

The Capital Delivery team are a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators. In AMP8, Asset Delivery PMO will support a multi‑billion‑pound programme of capital investment across YW's clean and wastewater assets. The Capital Programme is growing by over 50% with strong efficiency targets.
Where You Fit In:
- Work with business representatives to investigate and analyse opportunities to drive efficiency across the capital delivery process.
- Provide input to the strategic planning process to ensure that change aligns with the long‑term aspirations of the capital programme over current and future AMPs.
- Build business cases to support investment in change activity which will drive cost reduction in programme delivery.
- Work with business representatives to support project planning and delivery of key objectives through the provision of change management resources and workshop facilitation services.
- Work with the Business Architects, Process Leads and Project and Programme Managers to complete detailed business impact assessments and develop the business change plan for agreed and prioritised opportunities for change initiatives, acting as a bridge between project/programme management and business operations.
- Obtain assurance from the relevant business operations that the change plan will deliver the required benefits.
- Prepare the business readiness plan for the transition to new ways of working and ensure necessary launch approval and go/no go decisions are managed to a pre‑defined set of criteria.
- Optimise the timing of the release of project deliverables into business operations.
- For smaller projects, take on the Project management of continuous improvement initiatives in addition to managing business change.
Senior Project Manager Role:
- Support the programme manager with key governance on the strategic change programme.
- Deliver key strategic change projects and continuous improvement activities.
- Design and deliver business readiness and business change plans, including launch, engagement and comms across the programme.
- Have oversight of change initiatives across the business and our function to spot opportunities to align and impacts to delivery.
- Responsible for sustainment/reinforcement activities to ensure change is adopted and embedded.
- Responsible for benefits tracking and realisation across the change programme.
- Lead yourself and a team to deliver a programme of work that supports the business strategy and delivers strong, measurable outcomes.
- Produce key documents needed for sign‑off by leadership teams.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Significant delivery experience within business change, ideally qualified via ProSci or equivalent.
- Solid background of programme governance and delivery.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills.
- Strong benefits tracking experience.
- Focused and driven individual who excels in a challenging environment.
- Great people management skills and be a coach and mentor to your team colleagues, assisting in peer reviews of projects not under your control to support the overall programme needs.
- Demonstrated professionalism, excellent performance and an accomplished communicator, negotiator and presenter.
- Proven track record of project management.
- Experience of leadership and working with multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present and communicate complex information to a wide range of audiences.
Additional Benefits:
- A recognised qualification in project/programme management such as APM is desirable but not essential.
