Environmental Manager

Join Cunningham, one of Ireland’s award‑winning building and civil engineering contractors, as an experienced Environmental Manager.

The role drives environmental performance across our portfolio and supports sustainability strategy.

  • Monday – Friday (8 am – 5 pm Monday – Thursday, 8 am – 2:30 pm Friday)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of company‑wide environmental projects.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and risks.
  • Implement a project‑management structure to support environmental strategy.
  • Monitor and report on project progress.
  • Stay informed on environmental and sustainability trends and best practices.
  • Identify and engage stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate environmental considerations.
  • Develop and implement staff engagement campaigns.
  • Create KPIs to measure environmental impact and engagement success.
  • Coordinate sustainability champions or green teams across retail networks.
  • Recommend process improvements.
  • Assist with carbon footprint reporting and development.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Environmental Studies, Sustainability, Communications, Project Management, or related field (preferred).
  • Experience managing projects, preferably in construction sustainability.
  • Ability to coordinate across teams and translate project goals into practical actions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail and strategic oversight.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Power Point.

  • Ability to work as part of cross‑functional teams.
  • Highly organized and able to manage tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficient troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.

All candidates must have the right to work in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.

The role may require working at other locations, including construction sites or client offices, so flexibility is required.
