DEPARTMENT: Technical & Procurement

ROLE PURPOSE: Reporting to the Head of Planning, the Planner is responsible for developing and monitoring programme solutions. These include preparing tender submissions, construction/target programmes, procurement scheduling, resource and cost allocations, on-site duties, short-term planning, and coordinating report development. Working closely with the Head of Planning and Project Delivery Teams, the Planner will contribute to the success and growth of the construction division. The role requires meeting personal development targets, project goals, and business unit objectives.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Planning and scheduling all aspects of the programme to ensure efficient and on-budget delivery.
  • Providing consistent, accurate, and reliable programme data.
  • Developing and communicating planning strategies and solutions using Asta PowerProject.
  • Supporting the Senior Planner and Head of Planning in preparing programmes in line with contract requirements.
  • Liaising with project teams to ensure consistency in methodologies and assumptions.
  • Identifying opportunities and key risks during programming.
  • Providing regular updates to stakeholders on programme progress.
  • Generating high-quality reports for stakeholders on a regular and ad-hoc basis.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet programme requirements.
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications, and bills to understand project scope and develop robust programme solutions.
  • Understanding planning obligations across various construction contracts.
  • Developing and monitoring detailed short-term programmes with the delivery team.
  • Presenting and communicating the impact of activity slippage and critical path analysis.
  • Measuring and justifying progress against programme targets.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

  • At least 3 years of experience as a Planner in the construction industry.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
