Working across a variety of industry sectors, our Structures teams are renowned for producing innovative and award-winning sustainable engineering solutions throughout the lifecycle of any building project. The Structural engineering teams provide industry-leading expertise and offer a pro-active and collaborative approach to skill development and professional excellence.

The Role You\’ll Play
In this graduate role, you’ll join our Structural Engineering team to work on the design of some of the most exciting construction design projects in the UK and worldwide. Working closely with colleagues across our multi-disciplinary practice, you’ll provide specialist consultancy input on projects across a wide range of sectors. You’ll work with and be guided by a team of expert engineers to carry out conceptual as well as detailed structural engineering design and analysis, using your maths, science, and problem-solving skills to design inspirational and sustainable structures and more.
This role will require you to use your knowledge and expertise to define and translate clients’ needs into designs for buildings, infrastructure, facilities, and services with sustainability at the forefront of the design. You’ll have the opportunity over time to assume greater levels of responsibility and autonomy as your professional skills develop, and with accredited professional development programmes from the IStructE or ICE, you’ll be supported towards Chartership.
The Skills You\’ll Bring
- On target to achieve at least a 2:2 degree.
- Desirable if accredited with or on course to achieve a BEng/MEng degree level (or equivalent) in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering.
- You’ll have a keen interest in structural design and analysis for the built environment, and crucially – have a passion for creative and intuitive design.
- Possessing a desire for personal and professional development, you’ll have the proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Digital engineering is a big focus at Cundall, so ideally, you’ll have an understanding of Parametric Modelling Techniques (Grasshopper or Dynamo), or at least one modern programming language (e.g. Python, C#, VB).
- You are organised and methodical in your approach to managing your tasks and priorities, striving to meet deadlines.
- Collaborative in nature, you’ll be able to empathise with your clients’ needs and utilise excellent communication skills, both in writing and verbally, with internal and external stakeholders. You’re used to using your initiative to overcome challenges and have a positive, can-do attitude.
