This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Geoenvironmental Engineer, Geotechnical Engineer or an Engineering Geologist with an environmental focus, to work on the design of some of the most exciting construction projects in the UK and worldwide. Working closely with colleagues across our multi-disciplinary practice (in particular, our Civil and Structural Engineering teams), you will provide specialist consultancy input on projects across all sectors including Education, Healthcare, Critical Systems, Industrial, Residential and Retail.
In this wide-ranging role, you will undertake detailed ground engineering analysis, lead site investigations and risk assessments (appropriate to your skill set) as well as develop ground engineering design solutions for complex challenges. You will be required to manage and mentor junior staff and undertake detailed technical reviews of reports.

Ideally holding chartership and with significant demonstrable relevant experience (e.g. a minimum of 8 years in consultancy), along with a BSc degree (or equivalent) in geology, engineering geology, earth sciences, civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, geochemistry or environmental science, you have extensive experience in a broad range of ground engineering work appropriate to your skill set. An MSc is preferable.
You will have extensive experience of scoping, conducting and interpreting site investigations for a wide variety of schemes including for large / tall buildings in complex urban environments, and for masterplanning. Ideally you will be able to demonstrate some experience within the data centre and energy sectors as well as having temporary works experience.
To succeed in this role, you will be able to show a broad understanding of engineering geology as well as being a specialist in your skill set. You will have proven working knowledge guidance including BS 5930/Eurocode 7, BS10175, CIRIA 552, 665, 733 & 758, BS8485, BRE-SD1, LCRM and WM3. You will demonstrate the ability to use ground engineering software relevant to your area of expertise.
You will be able to demonstrate your ability to manage and develop more junior members of the team and relate to more senior ground engineering staff and other Cundall engineering disciplines in a supportive and collaborative manner. You will have proven experience in building client relationships both externally and internally.
Given the collaborative and client-focused nature of this role (both internal and external), excellent communication skills and experience of using your initiative and negotiating skills to overcome challenges are essential.
