Some of the most exciting and high-profile projects in the data centre and critical systems fields, both in the UK and internationally. The role will include leading and supporting mechanical engineers in the delivery of designs, while managing fees, programmes and design quality. You will communicate clearly with project teams, clients and other disciplines, and remain actively involved in the design process, producing deliverables where required.

You will help maintain and build strong client relationships, supporting repeat business through trusted delivery, clear communication and a strong understanding of client needs. You will also contribute to work-winning activity, helping to identify opportunities and support proposals where appropriate. You will play an important role in nurturing and developing junior engineers, helping them grow in confidence, capability and technical judgement. At the same time, you will work closely with senior engineers and the senior management team contributing to the wider leadership and development of the team.

The Skills

  • You will be a Chartered Engineer, educated to degree level in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (MEng, BEng or equivalent), with experience in a mechanical engineering role within a data centre, critical systems or building services context.
  • Given the client-facing nature of this role, you must also have proven experience of client engagement.
  • You will have experience in the data centre field, including a strong understanding of the principles of data centre design and delivery across a range of projects.
  • In your most recent position, you will have consistently demonstrated your ability to manage multiple large-scale projects and less experienced engineers to deliver to client expectations.
