Our specialist acoustics team works on projects throughout the world, from their bases in the UK, Dubai, Hong Kong and Australia. The team provides consultancy services to clients both independently and as part of a co-ordinated multi-disciplinary offering.

Our specialist acoustics team works on projects throughout the world, from their bases in the UK, Dubai, Hong Kong and Australia. The team provides consultancy services to clients both independently and as part of a co-ordinated multi-disciplinary offering.
They work on projects large and small, across a variety of sectors. Established in 2010, the team has gone from strength to strength, and is represented regularly at industry events, providing thought leadership within the acoustics industry and beyond.
The Role
Further to continuing success and growth, the team in Manchester is now ready to add an Acoustic Consultant to the team. The successful candidate will possess experience in building acoustics and will provide management of a wide range of built environment engineering projects.
Attendance and input at design meetings and providing clear advice to clients, architects and engineers (internal and external) on design issues relating to acoustics, noise and vibration will be crucial.
The technical duties will comprise preparing acoustic design specifications which includes liaising with clients, calculations and processing of results, interpretation of data, computer modelling, together with production of reports, drawings, figures and tables. The role will also include regular site visits, carrying out site inspections, surveys and acoustic testing which may sometimes take place during evenings and weekends.
The Skills
Having been educated to degree level preferably in Acoustic Engineering or another relevant discipline, your career to-date has seen you develop your acoustic expertise within a consultancy environment where you have gained a solid understanding of environmental and building related acoustic work stream, with an emphasis on architectural and MEP acoustics. You have proven experience of providing your expertise to internal team members and third parties, including clients, architects and contractors, and have proven yourself as a highly effective Acoustic Consultant.
Overall, this role requires a good level of relevant expertise, communication skills, and a passion for excellence in Acoustic Engineering. A passion for sustainable, zero carbon design and interest in digital engineering are also desirable attributes.
