We are seeking an exceptional and highly experienced and motivated School Business Manager to join the Senior Leadership Team and play a pivotal role in the strategic and operational leadership of the School.
We are looking for a professional operational leader with accounting experience who can think strategically, manage complex projects, lead colleagues effectively and provide sound advice to both the Headmaster and Governing Body. The successful candidate will combine financial accounting acumen, commercial awareness, practical judgement and strong leadership skills with a genuine commitment to education and the wellbeing of pupils and staff.
As Clerk to the Governors, the postholder will also support the effective operation of the Governing Body, ensuring that governance processes are professional, efficient and aligned with best practice within the independent school sector.
Reporting directly to the Headmaster and Chair of Governors the School Business Manager will be responsible for the leadership and management of the School's support functions, including:
- Finance and Management Accounts
- Human Resources & Administration
- Estates and Facilities, Catering and Housekeeping
- Health and Safety
- Compliance and Risk Management
- Information Technology
- Capital Projects and Asset Management
- Strategic Planning and Business Development
- Governance and Clerk to the Governing Body
This is a significant leadership opportunity for an experienced business professional who can combine strong commercial awareness with a commitment to educational excellence and the wellbeing of pupils and staff. The successful candidate will ensure that the School operates efficiently, sustainably and in full compliance with all statutory, regulatory and independent school obligations.
The role requires an individual with exceptional organisational and leadership skills, financial accounting acumen, sound judgement and the ability to work collaboratively across all areas of school life.
The School Business Manager will be a key strategic adviser to the Headmaster and the Governing Body, helping to shape the future development of Cundall Manor School.
The Successful Candidate
The successful candidate will be an accomplished leader with experience of managing complex operations, budgets, projects and people. They will be a confident communicator, capable of working collaboratively with governors, senior leaders, staff, parents and external partners.
Whilst experience within the education sector would be advantageous, applications are welcomed from candidates with leadership experience gained in education, charity, commercial, public sector or other relevant environments.
