Cundall are an award winning international multi‑disciplinary consultancy, operating throughout the UK, Australia, Asia, MENA and Europe. As a medium‑sized but truly international consultancy, we are big enough to be able to provide a wide range of challenging projects for our staff, but still at a size where our students can be treated as individuals and given real responsibility at an early stage.
Our Critical Systems teams have accomplished amazing projects like an energy efficient data centre for Facebook. As a Summer placement, you could play a key part in our next big project.
The Role
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineering student to join our team for a Summer Placement in London, starting in 2026. It is an excellent opportunity for you to work on the design of some of the most exciting construction design projects in the UK and worldwide. Under the guidance of our team of expert engineers this role will provide you with opportunities to assist our design team with detailed mechanical critical systems design and analysis; defining and translating clients’ needs into designs for buildings, facilities and services. All with sustainability at the forefront of the design.
Working closely with colleagues across our multi‑disciplinary practice, you’ll provide specialist consultancy input on projects across a wide range of sectors including education, healthcare, workplace, retail and critical systems (data centres).
The Skills
- On track to achieve a 2:1 or above
- Working towards a degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
- Preferably undertaking your penultimate year of study
- Have a passion for improving the built environment
- Be interested in design and sustainable design principles
