There is a great opportunity to join our Structural Engineering Team in London. We are looking for a structural engineer with 2 to 5 years of experience who is passionate about creative design and structural analysis, who is interested in complex structures and the challenges that come with them, and have strong digital engineering and modelling skills. You will be based in our multidisciplinary London office and will be working with us on the design of some of the most exciting and prestigious projects around the world.
The Role
As part of our team, and working closely with colleagues of various disciplines, you will be an important part of a project team in delivering projects including the preparation of parametric models, structural analysis models, detailed structural calculations, sketches and specifications. This will involve all common structural materials, less ordinary and experimental ones, and use of appropriate software.
You will work across a variety of sectors and will have the opportunity over time to assume greater levels of responsibility and autonomy as your professional skills continue to develop, and as you work and are supported beyond Chartership.
The Skills
- You will have worked in a similar role previously and have the proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- You will have a deep understanding of structural analysis, finite element modelling and structural design.
- Strong knowledge of Rhino and Grasshopper; knowledge of coding (C#, Python) is desirable but not a requirement.
- You are organised and methodical in your approach to managing your tasks and priorities, and you strive to meet deadlines.
- Collaborative in nature, you will be able to empathise with your clients' needs and utilise excellent communication skills, both in writing and verbally, with internal and external stakeholders.
- You are used to using your initiative to overcome challenges and have a positive, can-do attitude.
