As a medium-sized but truly international consultancy, we are big enough to provide a wide range of challenging projects for our staff, but still at a size where our students can be treated as individuals and given real responsibility at an early stage.
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an IT Apprentice. This role is ideal for someone new to the field who is eager to learn and develop their skills. As an IT Apprentice, you will play a key role as a Help Desk support engineer, with opportunities to progress into other areas of Desktop Management. Over time, you will build strong technical skills and can grow within the role.
The Role
- Provide excellent user support by delivering 1st and 2nd line assistance, including telephone support and hands-on help with usersβ laptops.
- Offer effective, timely, and friendly support to walk-up users, and support new starters on their first day to ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
- Manage incidents and software issues by keeping support tickets up to date and escalating to the correct teams when necessary.
- Troubleshoot standard software applications and escalate issues as required to maintain service continuity.
- Set up and configure devices by building laptops, installing required software, and ensuring devices are secure and compliant before being issued to users.
- Prepare workstation environments, including desks, monitors, and docking stations, to provide users with fully operational setups.
- Maintain hardware, networks, and systems by diagnosing and resolving issues with laptops, monitors, keyboards, mice, and printers.
- Provide basic network support for Wi-Fi, VPN, and wired connections, maintain audio-visual systems in meeting rooms, and support MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) setup and troubleshooting.
- Document processes and guidance by creating and updating IT documentation, FAQs, and user guides to support both users and the wider IT team.
As you develop your skills with us, you will also be granted day-release to study for the appropriate academic qualifications at The S&A Transform Group Ltd.
