Ensure the effective operational delivery of all lighting aspects of entertainment, providing additional sound or lighting support when required, to support the overall success of the entertainment production. Deputise for the Production Manager as directed.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for shows, deck activities, talks, and other events as directed by the Production Manager.
- Operate equipment for all main events, assisting with set design, making changes to the set as required, prompting performers, and cueing technicians.
- Manage staff within your section on a day-to-day basis to ensure high-quality technical and production support.
- Coach and train team members to develop their skills and maintain operational excellence.
- Attend rehearsals and band calls, ensuring all equipment is maintained and functional; undertake repairs as necessary.
- Participate in regular meetings with the Production Manager to maintain a complete overview of onboard entertainment needs.
- Undertake planned and preventative maintenance, cleaning, and testing of all production equipment regularly; report any issues and assist with repair or replacement requirements.
- Follow work schedules and ensure all tasks are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with current safety and company regulations.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and equipment records and assist with all aspects of Health & Safety procedures for the department.
- Assist with managing production stores, receiving and signing for deliveries, checking for damage or missing items, and highlighting discrepancies.
- Ensure safe storage of pyrotechnics and other stock.
- Provide training in the operation and maintenance of ship’s automation systems to Entertainment Technicians and Entertainment Staff as required.
Skills & Experience
- Strong technical knowledge of automation systems and lighting operations.
- Previous experience in entertainment production or technical theatre environment.
- Ability to lead and develop a team effectively.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing schedules.
Desirable
- Experience with cruise ship entertainment or large-scale productions.
