Operates machines and production equipment independently in accordance with quality and productivity requirements safely in a manufacturing environment and may instruct or coach others.
Key Responsibilities:
- Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE): Stop work and immediately report any major injury hazards. Report any work-related injury, illness, incident or hazard. Comply with HSE standards, policies, procedures and regulations. Use appropriate personal protective equipment. Promote interdependence by looking out for one another. Correct hazards within your control and capabilities. Recognize how your work may impact the environment and work to minimize the negative impact. Engage in HSE Training.
- Quality: Follows all applicable standard work, process documentation and quality procedures such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), poka-yoke and visual standards. Raises issues to minimize cost and quality exposures. Performs quality inspections. Identifies and controls non-conforming material.
- Delivery: Fully proficient with all work processes, independently operating equipment to manufacture and assemble product in order to create the proper characteristics and dimensions necessary to meet customer expectations. Instructs and coaches others and acts as an informal resource for team members with less capability. Achieves production goals. Works at the required cycle time or defined engineering standard. Maintains clean and orderly work area, including routine housekeeping tasks and machine cleaning tasks and performs planned operator care and maintenance tasks. Remains flexible and performs other miscellaneous duties, as required, to meet production goals. Works with peers, skilled trades and support staff to maintain and identify equipment needing repair.

We are looking for several Flexible Manufacturing Workers for a 6-month fixed term contract to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Components Business in Huddersfield. Salary for this role is £30,647 plus shift premium if working the night shift. This is a fixed term contract working 35 hours per week. Working between the following shifts: Days, Monday – Friday 7.30am – 3.00pm; Nights, Monday – Thursday 10.15pm – 7.30am. No previous manufacturing experience is required, full training will be provided. All you must bring is an open mind and willingness to learn. Good communication and collaboration skills will help you to succeed.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Dismantle out of service Turbochargers and segregate salvageable material vs scrap components.
- Operate manual equipment such as presses, washes, shot blasters & hand tools.
- Perform basic visual and gauging inspection.
- Have a strong work ethic and be able to strive in high-paced & physically demanding tasks.
- Demonstrate strong teamwork skills and a passion for re-manufacturing.
- Maintain clean and orderly work area, including routine housekeeping tasks and machine cleaning tasks and perform planned operator care and maintenance tasks.
- Remain flexible and perform other miscellaneous duties, as required, to meet production goals.
- Participate actively in ways to improve quality, safety, process, material flow, and employee development.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Be able to support shift working.
- Prepared to be flexible within the team, shift and other assembly areas.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
