We are looking for a talented Transport Team Leader to join our team specialising in Logistics for our Transportation department in Daventry, United Kingdom. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract with the potential to become permanent. Working hours are Monday to Friday on a weekly rotating shift: 7:00am–3:00pm and 2:00pm–10:00pm (including shift allowance).
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Manage a team of up to 16 people, providing leadership, guidance and escalation support.
- Oversee Export and Inbound shipping processes, including booking equipment, documentation, and customs clearance.
- Ensure adherence to SOX, trade compliance, and all regulatory requirements.
- Attend key stakeholder meetings, facilitating smooth communication between senior management, internal teams, and external partners.
- Prepare and analyse KPI reports, documents, and dashboards that inform strategic decision‑making.
- Work effectively with time‑sensitive and changeable schedules, maintaining flexibility and accuracy under pressure.
- Identify and drive continuous improvement projects to enhance efficiency and service quality.
- Safeguard confidential records and files, ensuring security and discretion at all times.
To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
- Excellent attention to detail — quality control is critical in logistics and compliance.
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills to balance multiple priorities effectively.
- Previous transportation/logistics experience with a solid understanding of shipping processes.
- Good computer background with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Office Suite.
Education/Experience:
- Significant work experience in administrative support, logistics, or related fields.
- Familiarity with compliance requirements (e.g., SOX, trade regulations) and stakeholder management.
- Additional training or certifications in business administration or logistics are preferred.
