Summary of the course: The Travel Services Apprentice role is a developmental position within the Travel and Expense Services function. During the apprenticeship you will work 5 days per week, inclusive of 1 day per week for study at Darlington College. The working hours are 37.5 hours per week with flexibility to suit business needs. On completion of this apprenticeship, you will obtain a Level 3 Business Administration qualification. This role is a great opportunity to gain experience within the travel and expense functions and is responsible for supporting employees in multiple business units across different locations within Europe, Africa and the Middle East. During the apprenticeship, you will learn about different aspects of Travel & Expense Services within a global company and play an active role in contributing to the achievement of team deliverables.

Responsibilities: In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Supporting the day-to-day administration of the Cummins Corporate Card and Purchasing Card programmes across the UK, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
  • Managing and responding to queries via Microsoft Teams and email in relation to Travel and Expense services.
  • Delivering a high standard of customer service to both internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Responding to employee queries and providing guidance on Travel and Expense processes.
  • Assisting with the preparation and distribution of reports for Business Units on a monthly and ad-hoc basis.
  • Assisting with expense auditing within Concur and AppZen, applying sound judgement and attention to detail.

Qualifications: To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Minimum of GCSE’s Maths and English (Lit and Lang) at Grade 5/B (or equivalent), all other subjects at 4/c or above.
  • A-Level qualifications Grades A–E (Business or travel and tourism) are desirable.
  • Previous work experience or voluntary experience is advantageous.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of attention to detail.
