Are you a hands-on warehouse professional ready to step into a leadership role where you can genuinely make an impact? We're recruiting for a Warehouse Assistant Manager to join a fast-growing 3PL logistics business supporting over 40 client accounts ranging from SMEs through to larger established brands. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys being operationally involved, leading from the front, developing people, and improving warehouse performance in a fast-paced environment. Working closely with the Warehouse Manager, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day running of two nearby warehouse facilities, helping to drive efficiency, team performance, and operational excellence as the business continues to grow.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting the daily management of warehouse operations across inbound and outbound activity
- Leading, coaching, and motivating warehouse teams on the shop floor
- Driving process improvements and operational efficiencies
- Supporting stock accuracy and warehouse performance through the WMS system
- Assisting with project-based operational improvements
- Helping maintain excellent customer service standards across multiple client accounts
- Supporting peak operational periods, including seasonal volume increases
This role is approximately:
- 70% operationally hands-on on the warehouse floor
- 30% systems, planning, reporting, and process improvement
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone energetic, proactive, and ambitious who enjoys being part of a busy operational environment. You'll ideally have:
- Experience within a warehouse, logistics, fulfilment, or 3PL environment
- Previous team leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong people management and coaching skills
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
- Confidence using warehouse systems and technology
- The ability to stay calm and organised in a fast-paced setting
- Experience with Mintsoft or another WMS would be beneficial, but training can be provided.
