Overview

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SHE professional to join a business committed to operational excellence, safety and sustainability, where you'll work closely with the leadership team to develop a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with UK legislation and industry best practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the site's Safety, Health and Environmental strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with UK SHE legislation and company standards.
  • Develop and continuously improve SHE management systems.
  • Provide expert SHE advice and guidance to managers and operational teams.
  • Lead incident investigations and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Drive behavioural safety initiatives and employee engagement.
  • Monitor SHE performance through audits, inspections and KPI reporting.
  • Manage environmental compliance, including permits, waste and sustainability initiatives.
  • Support operational and capital projects through effective risk management.
  • Coach and influence leaders to embed a positive SHE culture.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of five years' management experience within a manufacturing or process industry environment.
  • A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant scientific discipline.
  • A NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent Level 6 qualification).
  • Strong knowledge of UK Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
  • Experience developing and improving SHE management systems.
  • Proven leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience leading incident investigations and delivering measurable SHE improvements.
