We are looking for an enthusiastic student who is interested in supply chain to join our team specialising in supply chain for our Cummins Distribution European Supply Chain in Darlington UK. This role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence July 2026.
Responsibilities:
- Working on Projects, Continuous Improvement and Business Intelligence for the Distribution Aftermarket.
- Help deliver Supply Chain objectives via leading or supporting projects of varying complexity and size, usually across multiple countries in Europe.
- Focus on Continuous Improvement initiatives as we evolve our End-to-End Supply Chain Processes.
- Involved in supporting our Business Intelligence suite.
- With the support of key stakeholders, prepare Key Performance Indicators for Business-as-Usual operations and for Projects, which may involve presenting to leadership.
- Analyze and interpret data to draw conclusions to improve business processes.
- Have flexibility and freedom to create innovative solutions to drive improvements in current processes, conduct analysis throughout the Supply Chain and help identify key insights and improvement opportunities.
- Exposure to multiple Cummins business units and sub-functions.
- Receive exposure to working in a global environment and be part of the supply chain team.
Qualifications:
- Working towards a degree in Business or supply chain related areas (planning, logistics, purchasing).
- Excellent IT Skills, in particular Excel and PowerPoint; Sharepoint and Visio beneficial.
- Analytical skills, ability to understand data, solve problems and think innovatively.
- Ability to manage workload effectively independently, remotely and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Previous experience in a supply chain role would be beneficial but is not required.
