We are looking for a talented Maintenance Technician to join our team, specializing in Manufacturing within our Cummins Drivetrain and Braking Systems (CDBS) organisation in Cwmbran, Wales, UK. This role is well suited to candidates who are approaching the end of an apprenticeship or who have recently completed one and are looking to build on their hands‑on experience in a permanent position. This is a permanent on‑site role following a 37‑hour week, rotational shift pattern:
- Mornings: Monday - Thursday 06:00-14:00; Friday 06:00-13:30
- Afternoons: Monday - Thursday 14:00-22:00; Friday 13:30-21:00
- Nights: Monday - Thursday 22:00-06:00; Friday 21:00-04:30
Impact In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Supporting safe and reliable operation of automated assembly and machining equipment.
- Diagnosing faults and completing effective repairs to minimise downtime and maintain production flow.
- Delivering preventive maintenance on time to improve equipment availability and reduce repeat failures.
- Applying strong health, safety and environmental standards through safe systems of work and hazard reporting.
- Maintaining robotics, machine tools and automation, including PLC and pneumatic systems.
- Contributing to downtime analysis and continuous improvement activities.
- Scheduling maintenance work around production requirements to reduce constraints.
- Sharing knowledge, completing clear reports, and supporting effective shift and team performance.
Qualifications:
- Proven maintenance and fault‑finding experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong safety awareness, particularly around electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and automated systems.
- Clear communication and teamwork skills to work effectively across shifts and support teams.
- A proactive and flexible approach with a commitment to continuous improvement and learning.
Education / Experience:
- Significant relevant work experience or specialist skills gained through education, training, or on‑the‑job learning.
- Completion of a recognised apprenticeship is advantageous.
