We believe in flexibility for you to explore your passions while making an impact through meaningful work within our inclusive workforce. We are looking for an enthusiastic Plant Finance Placement Student to join our team specializing in Finance for our Engine Business Segment in UK, Darlington.

During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential! This role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence Summer of 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Opportunity to work within different accounting areas depending on business requirements.
  • Liaising with other Cummins entities and other functions across the plant to effectively resolve queries.
  • Responsible for customer invoicing, ensuring invoices are accurate, raised timely and compliant with business controls.
  • Ownership of certain month end journals, reconciliations and processes
  • Responsible for ensuring suppliers are paid on time by resolving invoice discrepancies, answering queries, and reconciling statements.
  • Opportunity to manage projects within the finance function and implement improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborative work with students across the site to complete cross functional community engagement projects.

Qualifications

  • Working towards a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related subject
  • Excellent IT Skills, in particular Excel and Microsoft
  • A willingness to challenge the norm and constantly look for improvements.
  • Competent in using collaboration tools such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
