We are looking for a talented Power Generation Electrical Field Service Technician to join our team specializing in the Service, Repair and Maintenance of Gensets and Electrical controls and equipment for Cummins, ideally home based in the Midlands/South Yorkshire Region of the United Kingdom. This is a permanent hybrid role, working Monday to Thursday 8:00am to 4:45pm, Friday 8:00am to 12:30pm.
Impact
- Performs preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on power generation products in the field.
- Escalates unresolved issues to product specialists / supervisor.
- Completes required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
- Completes training in line with skill and business requirements.
- Maintains service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
- Ensures adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to site management and to their supervisor.
- The ability to work with minimal supervision (Installation).
- Ability to accurately diagnose faults.
- Accurate and timely completion of Service Documentation.
- Highlights ‘upsell’ opportunities to the Customer and ensures that any ‘rejected’ opportunities are evident on the Service Worksheet before Customer signature.
- When required, disseminates knowledge and experience to other Service personnel.
- Undertakes training in line with skill and competency requirements.
- Ensures Personal toolkit meets ‘minimum requirements.
- Company supplied tooling is maintained to the appropriate standards.
- Complies with Company and Government legislation in relation to Health and Safety and Environment.
- Flexible working across the UK from time to time.
- 24/7 Call Out Rota (1 in 5-week coverage).
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience diagnosing and repairing of Power Generation equipment.
- Mechanical / Electrical experience.
- Control Panel upgrade experience.
- General rewire experience.
- Marine Electrical experience.
- Electrical Theory and Troubleshooting.
- Electrical circuit and system design.
- Panel Building - Cabinet fit out.
- LV/HV Switchgear experience preferred but not essential.
- Experience in PLC control systems preferred but not essential.
- Experience with Aftermarket Genset Controllers preferred but not essential.
Qualifications
- Minimum of City & Guilds or equivalent in electrical engineering.
- 18th Edition Electrical qualification preferred.
