We are looking for a talented Site Quality Engineer to join our Quality Team, in Huddersfield, United Kingdom.
Responsibilities
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that reduce scrap, minimize pallet failures, and enhance overall product quality.
- Lead containment, corrective action, and root‑cause analysis activities (FTA, 7‑Step, Ishikawa, 5 Why) to eliminate recurring issues and protect the customer.
- Strengthen the site’s quality systems by ensuring compliance with IATF 16949, customer‑specific requirements, and AIAG core tools.
- Support APQP and PPAP processes to ensure new or modified products meet quality expectations and are ready for production.
- Utilize statistical methods—including MSA, capability studies, and SPC—to influence data‑driven decisions and improve process stability.
- Serve as a technical quality resource for cross‑functional partners, fostering collaboration and alignment on customer‑centric solutions.
- Promote Quality 4.0 capabilities by leveraging digital tools, cloud‑based systems, and connected data to enhance process visibility and performance.
- Lead or support internal quality audits and Safe Launch initiatives to ensure long‑term product reliability and compliance.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with the capacity to apply structured quality methodologies.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate across teams and convey technical information clearly and professionally.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, change management, and continuous improvement principles.
- Ability to influence diverse stakeholders and drive balanced, quality‑focused decisions.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, apprenticeship or a scientific discipline, or a related technical field; equivalent hands‑on experience may be considered.
- Experience in quality engineering, manufacturing, or process improvement roles within an industrial or automotive environment is preferred.
- Mandatory strong knowledge of AIAG core tools (APQP, FMEA, PPAP, MSA, SPC) and IATF 16949 standards.
- Background in conducting audits, leading problem‑solving activities, and using data‑driven decision‑making tools.
