We are looking for talented Design engineers. 100% onsite working is expected during the validation phase of projects. The role will also require 10% domestic and 10% international travel as required.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Perform brake application reviews, calculations, tolerance studies, and brake-related analyses to support product design decisions.
  • Process, analyze, and interpret technical test data to inform product performance, quality, and reliability improvements.
  • Investigate product issues by identifying root causes, recommending corrective actions, and owning problem resolution with guidance from senior engineers.
  • Execute technical processes including Engineering Standard Work (ESW), iDFMEA, and Failure Incident Review Group (FIRG) participation.
  • Develop, coordinate, and oversee test validation programs, including planning, execution, and reporting of results.
  • Conduct technical reviews with suppliers and customers to ensure product requirements, risks, and interfaces are clearly understood and managed.
  • Mentor and support new engineers or student placements, providing technical guidance and coordination of tasks.
  • Coordinate subsystem/component engineering activities across product lifecycle processes (PPT, VPI, CPS), acting as a central technical point between internal teams, suppliers, and manufacturing.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Strong engineering foundation with the ability to alternate between theoretical analysis and hands-on practical application in automotive environments.
  • Solid understanding of materials, stress/strain theory, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for evaluating component performance and durability.
  • Effective communication: excellent skills in communication, presentation, and report writing to effectively share progress and final reports, and to collaborate with stakeholders and team members.
  • Familiarity with modern engineering tools and practices; foreign language proficiency considered a plus for global collaboration.
  • Intellectual property: proposing and preparing new ideas for invention disclosures and patent filings will protect and advance the company’s technological innovations.

Education / Experience:

  • College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or appropriate STEM field is required.
  • Post-graduate (Master’s) degree relevant to this discipline area is desirable but not essential.
  • Technical expertise: a good foundation in Mechanical or Automotive engineering, along with relevant design and development experience.
  • Proficiency in tools like Creo and Windchill, and a solid understanding of materials, stress/strain theory, and FE analysis are essential.

Nice To Have But Not Required:

  • Regulatory and testing knowledge: a thorough understanding of European and US brake legislation, experience with brake test methods and procedures, and knowledge of manufacturing methods and processes to ensure compliance and quality in product development.
  • Experience in the automotive sector.
