We are looking for a talented Supply Chain Planner to join our team specializing in Supply Chain Planning for Cummins West Yorkshire, United Kingdom.
Hybrid 3 days on site, 37.5 hours
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways
- Plan, coordinate, and maintain daily supply chain operations across materials, production, inventory, logistics, demand planning, and order fulfillment to ensure continuity of supply and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor supplier commitments and performance, proactively identifying supply risks and implementing mitigation plans to prevent disruptions to production and customer deliveries.
- Balance constrained supply across multiple sites, making informed trade‑off decisions to optimize inventory, protect critical production schedules, and meet customer commitments.
- Optimize planning parameters, master data, and system settings to improve forecast accuracy, planning stability, end-to-end supply chain visibility, and reduce reactive expediting.
- Lead daily planning activities to identify and resolve potential supply chain issues, implementing preventive actions that minimize operational disruptions and improve service levels.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and key stakeholders to develop and implement short- and mid-term tactical improvements that enhance supply chain performance and operational efficiency.
- Analyze supply chain KPIs, identify performance improvement opportunities, and lead continuous improvement initiatives, including Six Sigma and process optimization projects.
- Provide guidance and support to Supply Chain Planners by promoting standardized processes, maintaining internal controls, and ensuring effective communication and collaboration across the supply chain.
To be successful in this role you will need the following
- Proven experience in a manufacturing or supply chain planning environment, with a strong understanding of production constraints, supplier capabilities, inventory management, and supply‑demand balancing.
- Experience using ERP or advanced planning systems (e. g., Oracle, SAP, APCC) to manage material planning, demand, supply, and planning exceptions.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, perform root cause analysis, and translate insights into actionable process improvements.
- Ability to manage complexity, prioritize competing demands, and make sound decisions in a fast‑paced, dynamic supply chain environment.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to build effective cross‑functional partnerships and clearly communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Customer‑focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high service levels, building strong internal and external relationships, and driving continuous improvement.
Education/ Experience
- College, university, or equivalent degree required.
- Intermediate level of experience required.
