Estimator β Civil Engineering

The Role:
We\βre looking for an Estimator to join our Civil Engineering team in our Penarth office. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to play a key role in pricing, tendering, and supporting the successful delivery of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare quantities from drawings and specifications
- Support knowledge capture, innovation, and sector initiatives
- Prepare abstracts of material and subcontract requirements for pricing
- Carry out technical and commercial appraisals of material and subcontractor quotations
- Produce analytical estimates, including assessment of construction plant and temporary works
- Contribute to submission document preparation and attend site visits during tenders
- Use estimating software to prepare accurate estimates
- Evaluate construction methods and propose alternatives with the bid team
- Prepare forecasts of capital expenditure, income, and cash flow
- Support day-to-day delivery on small/medium projects and assist with larger programmes
- Develop client relationships and contribute to business growth
- Ensure compliance with client governance, company policies, and quality standards
- Commit to professional development and continuous improvement

Qualifications / Skills:
- Experience pricing work under NEC contracts (Fixed, Target Cost, Design & Build, Specification & Drawing, or ECI bids)
- Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Chartered or working towards (preferred)
- Strong technical understanding of Civil Engineering with ability to promote alternative solutions
