We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Capital Allowances Consultant to join our growing specialist tax team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of property and construction projects, helping clients maximise the tax relief available on their property investments while delivering technically robust and commercially focused advice.
Working closely with clients, advisors, and internal stakeholders, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing capital allowances claims
- Conducting technical property reviews
- Providing expert guidance on complex capital allowances matters across a wide range of sectors

Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with clients and their professional advisors to obtain construction, property, and financial documentation efficiently and effectively.
- Access and utilise client document management systems, maintaining knowledge of varying platforms and processes.
- Research the tax history of properties and review legal documentation relating to acquisitions and ownership structures.
- Provide advice on capital allowances legislation and complex entitlement issues.
- Prepare detailed reports and technical assessments, including Asset Life Reviews and Insurance Reinstatement Assessments.
- Produce clear and comprehensive project descriptions supported by robust evidence.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring a high standard of service delivery.
- Support and mentor junior team members where required.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting agreed deadlines and performance targets.
- Work independently with minimal supervision, delivering high-quality work that requires limited review or amendment.
- Take initiative to identify and obtain relevant information from internal and external sources.
- Maintain regular communication with colleagues and senior stakeholders regarding project progress and priorities.

Preferred Experience
- Working knowledge of capital allowances legislation, tax incentives, and the preparation of claims across a range of property types and investments.
- Experience working with fixed asset accounting systems.
- Progress towards, or commitment to obtaining, a relevant professional qualification such as RICS, ATT, CTA, or equivalent.
