Consolidations Accountant in Cardiff

The Role

We are looking for a Consolidations Accountant to join our growing European Finance team.

This role will support the preparation of Group reporting and consolidations across multiple entities, while also providing exposure to acquisition accounting, technical accounting projects, audit support and finance transformation initiatives. You'll work closely with finance teams across Europe and collaborate with FP&A, Tax, Treasury and Corporate Finance stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly and annual Group consolidations.
• Prepare consolidation journals, intercompany eliminations and reporting schedules.
• Review subsidiary submissions and ensure reporting deadlines are met.
• Assist with acquisition accounting and the integration of acquired businesses.
• Prepare technical accounting papers and support the implementation of new accounting standards.
• Support external audits and statutory reporting requirements.
• Maintain robust controls, reconciliations and audit-ready documentation.
• Contribute to finance transformation, process improvement and reporting automation projects.
• Partner with finance teams and senior stakeholders across Europe.

About You

• Experience within Group Reporting, Consolidation, Financial Accounting or Audit.
• Strong accounting knowledge gained in a multi-entity environment.
• Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical capability.
• Excellent attention to detail and reconciliation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Experience with consolidation systems and ERP platforms.
• Knowledge of FRS 102 and/or US GAAP.
• Foreign currency accounting experience.
• Exposure to acquisition accounting or business integrations.
• Professional services or private equity-backed business experience.
