We're looking for an
Estimator to join our growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in civil engineering or infrastructure who enjoys analysing costs, developing competitive tenders and working closely with project teams to deliver winning solutions.
- What you'll be doing
- Preparing quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.
- Producing analytical cost estimates and tender submissions.
- Pricing materials, plant and subcontract packages.
- Reviewing subcontractor quotations and carrying out technical and commercial assessments.
- Using estimating software to prepare accurate and competitive bids.
- Working with bid teams to develop innovative and alternative construction solutions.
- Preparing cash flow forecasts and capital expenditure forecasts.
- Attending site visits during the tender period.
- Supporting the delivery of projects while building strong client relationships.
- Contributing to knowledge sharing, continuous improvement and professional development across the team.
What we're looking for
- Experience preparing estimates within the civil engineering or infrastructure sector.
- Experience pricing work under NEC contracts (or other major forms of contract), including Fixed Price, Target Cost, Design & Build or ECI.
- A degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Chartered status, or actively working towards it, is desirable.
- Strong commercial awareness with excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- A good technical understanding of civil engineering construction methods.
- The ability to work to deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Confident communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
- A proactive attitude and a commitment to continuous improvement.
