Job description

Salary: £39,481 to £40,444 per annum

Hours: 37 hours per week

Location: Carlisle

Contract: Permanent

About the role

As part of Adult Social Care, you will play a key role in supporting vulnerable adults across Cumbria, ensuring their needs are assessed and that appropriate, person-centred support is put in place to help them live as independently as possible.

Working within a District or Locality Team, you will manage a varied caseload, carrying out assessments, developing support plans, and coordinating services that promote wellbeing, independence, choice, and control. Using a strengths‑based approach, you will work closely with individuals, families, community organisations, and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes while effectively managing risk and operating within agreed financial boundaries.

You will develop strong knowledge of local community resources and support individuals to access preventative and natural support networks, helping them build on their existing strengths and capabilities. Working in a multi‑disciplinary and multi‑agency environment, you will contribute to the delivery of high‑quality, personalised support and develop effective approaches to managing complex cases.

This is an autonomous and rewarding role for someone who is passionate about making a difference, promoting wellbeing, and empowering people to achieve the best possible outcomes in their lives.
