Are you passionate about making a real difference in people's lives? Cumbria Health are looking for three dynamic and compassionate Work and Health Coaches to join our transformative Workwell programme across North Cumbria. In this role, you will be able to empower individuals, improve community wellbeing, and support people into sustainable employment. You'll be at the heart of an impact-driven initiative that bridges the gap between health and work, helping individuals overcome barriers and thrive in the workplace. This role is covering North Cumbria so the roles can be based at Community sites in Carlisle, Penrith, Workington and Whitehaven. Full time, part time and alternative job patterns will be considered. Fixed Term contract until October 2026.

Main duties of the job: Cumbria Health delivers high-quality, responsive health services across the county. We are seeking motivated Work and Health Coaches to support the WorkWell programme across North Cumbria. As a Work and Health Coach, you will assess and provide specialist employment advice, support, and interventions. Responsibilities include managing a caseload, developing individual Thrive in Work and Return to Work plans, and identifying employment barriers. You'll guide participants in overcoming these barriers, signpost them to relevant services, and help them achieve their employment goals. The WorkWell service supports those facing challenges entering or sustaining employment, including participants on long-term sick leave or dealing with health conditions. Using holistic, light-touch therapy and health assessments, WorkWell provides early intervention to improve employment outcomes. Additionally, the service advises employers on reasonable adjustments and employee retention, supporting a healthier, more inclusive workforce. This role contributes to reducing health inequalities, as employment is a vital factor in maintaining good health and well-being.

Job responsibilities: Alongside these main duties you will be expected to carry out any other duties that are reasonably requested of you. To manage a caseload of participants who have experienced common mental, physical and social health problems or long-term conditions. To carry out avocational assessments and develop personalised work plans with North WorkWell participants. Ensuring that participants are eligible to attend the service. To provide an evidence-based, person-centred and holistic initial assessment of barriers. To provide a light-touch holistic support for health-related barriers to employment. To provide a pathway into local services to tackle specific needs and ensure referral pathways into and onwards from North WorkWell services to ensure maximum opportunities for people to engage with appropriate services. To maintain accurate case notes, action plans and North WorkWell participant paperwork and upload these to the management information system within the specified timeframe. To provide information, advice, guidance and support to individuals about the pathways of opportunities available to gain, return to and sustain work. To support individuals to gain accurate benefits advice, complete paid job applications, compile CVs and to prepare for interviews. To liaise with and arrange meetings with health professionals, partner agencies and/or employers concerning individual needs to increase opportunities for positive outcomes for North WorkWell participants. To deliver training and workshops for participants on job applications, CV writing and interview skills to improve their chances of moving into employment. To take part in informal training with colleagues from external organisations to help raise awareness and improve knowledge of potential barriers to employment. To monitor progress and outcomes of participants supported by North WorkWell, ensuring that stringent monitoring deadlines are adhered to, and KPI evidence is collected accurately. To work flexible hours as required to meet the needs of the service.

Person Specification: Personal Circumstances: Positive, Confident, Well organised, Good team player, Flexible, Ability to build rapport and effective relationships at all levels, Demonstrate initiative, Ability to maintain workload in a busy and demanding environment.

Qualifications: Degree level or equivalent level of experience. Level 4 Information, Advice and Guidance.

Experience: Excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills. Good negotiation and communication skills. The ability to initiate and develop rapport with participants and relationships with stakeholders. The ability to work independently and take responsibility for own workload. Excellent IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
