About This Role
Working Weeks: Term Time plus 2 weeks (38 weeks plus 2 weeks during school closure)
Paid weeks: 45.797 weeks
Working Pattern: Mon - Fri
This is a rewarding role where you will play a key part in improving attendance, engagement and emotional wellbeing for pupils who find attending school challenging due to anxiety or other emotional factors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver targeted interventions for pupils identified with EBSA
- Build positive, trusting relationships with vulnerable pupils and their families
- Work closely with the SENCO, pastoral team, and external agencies to develop and implement support plans
- Support reintegration into school through personalised timetables and strategies
- Monitor, record and evaluate pupil progress and engagement
- Support class teachers in meeting the needs of pupils with SEMH needs
- Provide guidance and support to other staff on EBSA strategies
- Help create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment
We Are Looking For Someone Who
- Has significant experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally in a senior or specialist role
- Has a strong understanding of EBSA, SEMH needs, and trauma-informed approaches
- Is calm, patient, and resilient, with excellent interpersonal skills
- Can work independently and as part of a wider team
- Is confident liaising with parents, carers and external professionals
- Is organised and able to manage and prioritise a varied workload
- Has GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above)
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 3 TA or above) are desirable
