We are seeking a Teacher of Boys' PE on a part-time basis of between 0.5 to 0.6 FTE from September 2026. Kirkby Stephen Grammar School is part of Cumbria Education Trust, a growing multi-academy trust based in Cumbria, committed to creating outstanding, innovative and inspiring learning environments for our schools and their communities.
The successful candidate will be joining CET at an exciting time, as we continue to build on our successes and move forward on our journey to establish ourselves as one of the highest performing MATs in the North of England. This is an excellent opportunity to join Kirkby Stephen Grammar School at a pivotal time for its future.
We are looking for an outstanding candidate to join our growing team. The candidate should be an excellent classroom practitioner, reflective in their teaching practice and focused on getting the best from every student across all key stages of the secondary curriculum, including KS5.
The Successful Candidate Will:
- Possess a relevant teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, Bed)
- Have experience of teaching GCSE and A Level PE
- Be an excellent communicator
- Ensure high standards of teaching across the curriculum and have a commitment to challenging learners to achieve well
- Be a passionate, caring and inspirational leader and teacher
- Be self-motivated and reliable
- Be enthusiastic about current research on thinking skills and building learning power
