Overview

Join our Public Protection & Housing Team and play a vital role in supporting the delivery of essential public services. Reporting to the Senior Manager – Environmental Health, you will act as team lead for Officers in the Technical Clerk service and provide a broad range of technical and administrative support to professional officers across Environmental Health and Housing.

Responsibilities

  • Act as team lead for Officers in the Technical Clerk service, providing technical and administrative support to professional officers across Environmental Health and Housing.
  • Support the Service Manager in day‑to‑day management of the Technical Clerk Service.
  • Lead essential business functions, including data management, freedom of information requests, government data submissions, data retention and IT systems for the Environmental Health operational service areas.
  • Handle enquiries, complaints and applications, providing clear advice to customers through multiple channels.
  • Contribute to effective management of data and systems, support performance monitoring and assist with financial processes such as invoicing and payment tracking.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to drive service improvements, support key projects and ensure accurate information is maintained for internal use and statutory reporting.
  • Support officers and managers as needed to keep services running smoothly.
