The main role of a Custody Detention Officer is to ensure the safety and welfare of those the police have arrested and detained in our custody suites. Responsibilities include administrative duties, taking DNA samples, booking detainees, logging possessions, fingerprinting, photographing, and ensuring detainee safety and well-being during their stay. Custody Detention Officers work closely with Police Officers and Custody Sergeants to maintain a safe environment, keep detainees secure, and ensure cells are clean and well-maintained. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and able to attend a training course starting on 27th October at Cumbria Constabulary Police HQ.
