The post-holder will play a key role in fulfilling the Constabulary’s legal obligations under Part V of the Police Act in relation to DBS Enhanced Criminal Records Certificate (ECRC) Disclosures and requests for information from the DBS Barring Arm.

The post-holder is responsible for providing accurate, relevant and timely information on behalf of the Chief Officer to the DBS, which provides a National Disclosure Service. The purpose of this is to assist employers to assess an applicant’s suitability to work with children and vulnerable adults.

You will be responsible for research, analysis, collation, and disclosure of information held by the Constabulary, making decisions in line with Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS) Quality Assurance Frameworks (QAFs).

The post-holder will be required to be vetted as a minimum to Management Vetting (MV) and Security Clearance (SC) levels. You will need to ensure compliance in respect of all disclosure decision making and work within the boundaries of relevant legislation and frameworks, such as NPCC Guidance, Authorised Professional Practice (APP), the DBS Quality Assurance Framework (QAF), the Data Protection Act and the Human Rights Act.

The post-holder will operate within existing Force Policies and Procedures and demonstrate professionalism in terms of confidentiality and access to sensitive information.
