To provide accountancy and corporation tax services to a range of business enterprises.

To assist with delivering high quality, compliant and efficient services to both clients and staff through excellent customer service, communication and in the implementation of systems and processes.

Generic role duties to include:

  1. To prepare and complete financial statements for a range of business enterprises,including preparation and completion of corporation tax computations.
  2. To plan, manage and prioritise your own workflow, budgets, and productivity toensure targets and deadlines are met.
  3. To aim to carry out all work efficiently with a recovery of at least 95% in line with the firm’s objective.
  4. To work efficiently and effectively to ensure that minimal adjustments are neededpost accounts manager review, working with a proactive approach to clear querieswith clients ahead of meetings.
  5. To liaise with other teams within the firm to ensure a joined-up approach isadopted to work where applicable. To work with personal tax, payroll, VAT/taxspecialists, the financial services team and other departments when necessary toidentify planning opportunities, advice and key communication points for FeeEarners ahead of meetings.
  6. To deal with clients in a professional and courteous manner and ensure that theirdata, information and records are secure at all times, adhering to GDPR legislation.
  7. To work with clients and their bookkeepers/financial controllers to assist them withtheir roles throughout the year. To liaise with businesses to ensure tax planningopportunities are identified, and cut-off is measured accurately in the lead up toyear ends.
  8. To use and comply with business systems and processes such as APS, VirtualCabinet, Xero, Digita, Quickbooks, and Sage.
  9. To carry out all work within a four-week turnaround period, where appropriate.
  10. To assist with training junior members of staff, overseeing their responsibilities andassisting with their development.
  11. To assist the manager and supervisor with mentoring junior staff members,including reviewing VAT returns and signing off account approach and budgets.
  12. To work closely with other members of the team on specialist projects as and whenrequired.
  13. To ensure there is clear communication with your line manager and other teammembers on work being carried out, updating workflow records in a timely andaccurate manner.
  14. To help your line manager identify ways to improve and develop the department.
  15. To deal with all communications in a timely manner and ensure they are of a highprofessional standard.
  16. To take full responsibility for all work and tasks assigned to you.
  17. To monitor non-chargeable time, ensuring this is minimal and unless otherwiseagreed no more than 5%.
  18. To represent the business when required to ensure positive links, relations andnetworks.

Skill Requirements

Education / Qualifications

Five GCSEs at Grade A-C (9-4) to include Maths and English.

AAT/ACA/ACCA qualified; or graduates with an accounts related degree;or qualified by experience.

Skills/ Knowledge/ Experience

2+ years of experience in accountancy practice in a relevant sector.

1+ years of experience in accountancy within the agriculture sector

Specialist technical knowledge.

Knowledge and experience with Xero/Sage/Quickbooks software. Competent in Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook.

Analytical ability.

A methodical approach and problem-solving skills.

A good team player who is flexible in their approach.

Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work accurately with consistent care and attention to detail.

Organisation skills, time management skills, and the ability to manage deadlines.
