Responsible to: Chief Executive Officer

Job Context: Multicultural Cumbria requires a fundraiser to lead and deliver effective fundraising activities that generate sustainable income for the Charity. Working as part of a small, collaborative team, the Community Fundraiser will take responsibility for specific income streams. The Community Fundraiser will focus on community fundraising and events. The postholder will build positive relationships with supporters, develop innovative campaigns, and help embed a culture of fundraising across the organisation to ensure that Multicultural Cumbria can continue to make a positive impact. The post holder will report directly to the CEO and work closely with her and the Director of Strategy and Partnerships. This role does not include fundraising from Trusts and Foundations or other grant awarding institutions including local or national Government. This post is offered for an initial period of 12 months, with a 6 month probation period. Key performance indicators will be mutually agreed, depending on the successful candidate's skills and experience. Successful outcomes will enable Multicultural Cumbria to offer continued employment beyond the 12 months period, with the opportunity to gain experience in other areas of fundraising. For those less experienced, there will be an opportunity to gain a Certificate in Fundraising from the Chartered Institute of Fundraising after the first year in post.
