The Lakes International Comic Art Festival (LICAF), working in partnership with Cumbria Arts & Culture Network’s ‘See It to Be It’ programme, is very excited to announce two Fellowship opportunities to learn about key aspects of the planning and delivery of a vibrant arts festival which attracts thousands of Comic Art fans to the region, and features acclaimed UK and international comic artists from over 20 countries.

The Fellowship involves 10 days of hands-on training which will take place over the period 21/9/26 – 4/10/26 (exact dates to be agreed). This period is the run up to our annual weekend festival celebrating all aspects of the comic art form.

The successful candidates will work alongside our team to learn key aspects of festival planning and delivery, including (but not limited to):

  • event programming
  • technical production
  • PR & marketing
  • volunteer management
  • venue liaison

Applicants should be aged 18-30 and must be available to work in Kendal from Friday 2 to Sunday 4 October (the dates of the festival weekend) on a residential basis (accommodation to be organised/paid).
