The Trustees of Great Corby School would like to appoint an inspiring individual to join our Early Years team at Great Corby School and Nursery to help us create an environment full of curiosity and wonder. Our school is proud to have been accredited by ‘The Curiosity Approach’, which aims to create ‘thinkers & doers’ by putting the child at the centre of their own development and education. We believe the children who have the freedom to explore natural objects and use their imagination have much higher levels of well-being, independence and confidence.

We are looking for:

  • Experience in Early Years Settings, particularly 3–5-year-olds
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Strong sense of awareness and willingness to learn
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A team player
  • Experience and understanding of the implementation of EYFS

Key Responsibilities:

  • To work in partnership with parents and carers
  • Working 1:1 and in small group work
  • Assist in ensuring the environment provides a safe, happy and stimulating environment for individual children and enables them to meet their full potential
  • To observe, plan and evaluate appropriately for children using the EYFS curriculum for prime and specific areas of learning
  • Maintain accurate and effective children’s records, using formative and summative assessments
  • Undertake a shared responsibility for health, safety and cleanliness throughout the nursery
  • Part of this role will involve safeguarding responsibilities, including reporting any safeguarding concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Team

What we can offer YOU:

  • A warm and welcoming school
  • An exciting opportunity to start on an incredible journey in developing our Early Years
  • A friendly and supportive team
  • Continued opportunities for professional development and training
