What You'll Do

  • Greet guests with a warm welcome and a smile; deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Assist Store Manager with building and developing a strong store team: training, scheduling, and coaching team members. Lead by setting clear and measurable goals, holding self and others accountable, and communicating effectively.
  • Monitor product levels on the sales floor, rotate stock, and ensure in-stock conditions for guests.
  • Oversee quality control, merchandising, and food safety programs in locations that offer hot food.
  • Maintain store cleanliness and appearance, including coffee station and food service areas; delegate and complete tasks to ensure a clean store.
  • Operate the cash register efficiently.
  • Assist the Store Manager in food-service locations by overseeing quality control, merchandising, safety programs, and other guidelines; perform other duties as assigned.

Training & Career Path

Managers In Training learn to manage day-to-day responsibilities of running an EG America convenience store location with guidance from Training Managers and Supervising Managers. You will work various shifts during training, then join our bench leadership team and help fill in during absences until assigned to your own store. As part of EG America, there are opportunities to advance within nearly 1,700 locations nationwide.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: High School or GED
  • Minimum Experience: 1 year retail or food experience
  • Preferred Experience: 1 year in retail, guest service or restaurant in a leadership role
  • Preferred Licenses/Certifications: ServSafe / Food Safety certification a plus but not mandatory

  • Comfortable talking and interacting with guests and team members

Scheduling & Hours

This position is full-time and involves a variety of hours, day and night; EG America locations can be open 24 hours depending on the store. Weekend and holiday hours are required.

Travel

5% travel. Ability to deliver deposits to the bank independently (where applicable) and have own vehicle to do so.

Physical Requirements

Ability to maneuver and regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Ability to stand/walk 8 hours a day; and to reach overhead, bend, squat, twist, reach, grasp, and work in cooler environments (cold temperatures). The noise level is usually moderate.
