We are seeking a reliable and experienced 18 Tonne Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely delivering and collecting pallets in the CA/LA postcodes, ensuring a timely and professional service. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in commercial driving and delivery operations to utilise their skills within a dynamic environment.
Duties
- Safely operate a 18 Tonne wagon, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies
- Load and unload goods, ensuring items are secured properly during transit
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues promptly
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery schedules or delays
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
Requirements
- Valid driver’s licence with relevant category entitlement
- Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably within a delivery or logistics environment
- Knowledge of mechanical aspects of lorries and basic vehicle maintenance
- Strong communication skills to liaise professionally with clients and team members
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively
- Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks and long periods on the road
