We are looking for a reliable and safety‑focused Container / Warehouse Operative to join our operational team. You will support container, warehouse and yard activities, ensuring operations run efficiently, safely and to agreed standards.

Salary: £26,403 - £26,824 per annum.

Hours: 37 hours per week.

Location: Port of Workington.

Contract: Permanent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out a range of operational warehouse, container and yard duties to agreed standards.
  • Operate powered tools, plant and equipment safely and in line with training and licences held.
  • Load, unload, move and store containers, goods and materials efficiently.
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety policies, procedures and safe systems of work.
  • Prioritise allocated tasks to meet operational requirements and deadlines.
  • Assist with allocating work within the team when required.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and managers to ensure smooth operations.
  • Support and guide less experienced team members where appropriate.
  • Use resources responsibly, understanding cost and efficiency implications.
